Eating Standing Up: Filming at the Edinburgh German Christmas Market with Cook That!

Posted at December 5, 2011 by 0 Comment

Last night was an evening of firsts: the first Edinburgh December snow, the first time Georgia tried bratkartoffeln and the first time Total Food Geeks went filming with Cook That!

At 5 o’clock on Sunday evening we braced the winter chill and ventured out in search of warmth, food and good chat at the German Christmas Market on Edinburgh’s Princes Street. This fairy-lit adventure was all in aid of the Cook That! Christmas Special episode; we sought out unsuspecting passers by and got them to voice their recommendations for the top restaurants, producers and Christmas spots in Edinburgh.

And what a group of food-loving, festive folks we found!

BIG THANKS to those of you who succumbed to our pleas and answered our questions, we learnt a whole lot about Edinburgh, met some wonderful people and tried some rather delightful mulled cherry beer – which is well worth a try along with the other tasty delights on offer if you head down.

What’s next? This was the first of many adventures that see TFGE and Cook That working together. Pop over to the Cook That! Youtube channel to see the first of their videos launching later this month, along with our very own Christmas episode [coming in the next fortnight].

If you’re interested in getting involved in any of our future activities then feel free to contact us.

About Emily

I like to experiment with ingredients and make something new and exciting with things otherwise old and familiar. Food is a big part of my day to day life and in the family so it's always very social - nothing better than good food and good company to make time fly. I'm something of a competitive cook and like to perfect my own versions of recipes through trial, error and practice so weekends are usually filled with one food-based project or another, and making a lot of mess...
